Frequently Asked Questions

Do I really need to clean inside the oven?

Yes. A greasy oven interior is the single most common reason bonds get deducted in Australia. Whether you do it yourself with a degreaser and a few hours of soaking, or include it in your bond cleaning booking, the oven must be grease-free inside, on the door glass, and on the racks.

Is professional carpet cleaning required for the bond?

In most cases, yes. Property managers typically require a professional carpet steam clean with a tax invoice before releasing the bond. A standard vacuum is rarely enough — embedded dirt, pet hair, and stains need a hot-water extraction machine to pass inspection.

What gets deducted from bonds most often?

The most common deductions are for a greasy oven, mould in bathroom grout or silicone, carpets that haven’t been professionally cleaned, scuff marks left on walls, and dirty window tracks. Tackling these five areas before inspection prevents the majority of bond disputes.

Can I print this checklist?

Yes. Use the “Print this checklist” button at the top of the page. Your browser’s print preview will show only the checklist tasks — buttons, navigation and the booking CTA are hidden for a clean printable layout.
